The four main characters in this drama are Si-Jin, a South Korean Special Forces unit captain, his comrade Dae-Young, a Master Sergeant, Mo-Yeon, a physician, and Myung-ju, an army surgeon.

 

Later, they are both unwittingly assigned to a station in Uruk, where they receive important insights into one another’s life and eventually realise that nothing was as simple as they had once believed.

At its finest, this is an epic drama, but there are also wonderful comedy moments played wonderfully by the characters, who are lifted by their extraordinary chemistry.

John Kim is a health nut. His traumatising childhood experience has led him to adopt a strict healthy lifestyle that includes clean eating and regular exercise. In her teen years, Joo-eun, a lawyer, was an ulzzang (‘best attractive face/body,’ but it was when she peaked). She has acquired weight as a result of an unhealthy lifestyle built on stress eating brought on by her job and inconsistent exercise.

John Kim is the lone medical staff on board when Joo-eun faints during a flight. When they reunite in Korea, she moves in with him and persuades him to assist her with her weight loss after a string of unfortunate events.

This drama has plenty of belly-laugh-inducing humour, but it also has its fair share of heartbreaking scenes. We believe it to be one of the most expertly balanced dramas.
