A leading group of psychedelic researchers behind the study believe they may have unravel how psilocybin exerts its therapeutic effects on the brain. Psilocybin, the psychedelic compound find in magic mushrooms, help open up the brains of depress people, “flip the switch” on stiff brain networks and make them less fixate on negative thought patterns, a new study publish in Buy Psychedelics Canada.
Magic mushrooms and other plants have long been use by many peoples for their healing and hallucinogenic properties, but only in the past two decades has there been a cautious resurgence in clinical research. Now, in recent years, psychedelics such as psilocybin mushrooms have offer hope to many people with treatment.
Psilocybin magic mushrooms may expand brain connections
As per new analysis of brain scans of 60 peoples experience depression treatment, conduct by a leading group of psychedelics researchers to increase knowledge of how psilocybin works in the brain, first by “dissolving “and then expanding the brain connections.
The increased brain connectivity was not only seen during their treatment, but up to three weeks later. Furthermore, this “opening” effect was associate with self-report improvements in her depression. During the study, similar changes in brain connectivity were not seen in people treat with a conventional antidepressant, suggesting that the psychedelic works from regular antidepressants.
Viable alternative
For this reason, the researchers say the results say psilocybin can be a viable alternative to depression treatments. “These studies are important because for first time, we find Psilocybin works on conventional antidepressants, making the brain more flexible and fluid, and less entrench in negative thought patterns associate with depression,” say a neuropsychopharmacologist
A @Imperial_PRG study of brain scans has found #psilocybin, a magic mushroom compound increases brain connectivity in people with #depression.
The findings showed it helps to “open up” depressed people’s brains, even weeks after use.

Previous studies have already confirm the positive benefits of psilocybin but now it has been possible to unravel more what happens in the brain.
“In previous studies, we had seen a similar effect in the brain when people were scan while taking a psychedelic, but here we are seeing it weeks after treatment for depression, suggesting a carryover of the drug’s acute action.” say Buy Psychedelics Canada.

Brain regions rich in serotonin receptors
We find that people who receive psilocybin had increase connectivity between brain regions rich in serotonin receptors, which are often segregate in depress patients. The effect was “rapid, sustain” and stronger in people who report that their depressive systems had ease. Their brain networks were more interconnect and flexible one day after treatment and, in some people, three weeks later.
Important early research
Although the findings are intriguing, it is early research. The researchers are hopeful that these study can lay the groundwork for more research into psilocybin’s potential to treat other mental illnesses, also mark by rigid thought patterns.
“An interesting indication of our study is we have discover a fundamental mechanism by which psychedelic therapy also useful for other mental illnesses, such as anorexia or addiction,” – Buy Psychedelics Canada.
“Now we have to check if this is so, and if it is, then we have find something important,” they add.
The authors caution, “The results are encouraging, patients with depression should not attempt to self-medicate with psilocybin, as Mushroom in the absence of test conditions may not have a positive result”.
